Honda to release its own type of Fury at New York City motorcycle show
Motorcycle debuts and sneak peeks continue to take top billing at the touring Cycle World International Motorcycle Show opening in New York City tomorrow.
Honda will join other motorcycle manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati, Kawasaki, KYMCO, Star, Suzuki, Vectrix and Yamaha who have either debuted new or upcoming models. The last notable anticipated appearance was the official premiere of Harley-Davidson's XR1200 after the announcement it would be sold on American shores. At the next Cycle World International Motorcycle Show presented by Toyota taking place in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, Jan. 16-18, Honda is expected to end months of whispers and rumors that its entering the chopper motorcycle segment with its model called 'Fury'. Using the VTX 1300cc V-twin for power, sporting the long rakes and lines more likely to come from your local bike shop than the Honda dealership, the Fury' is expected to be advertised with a guerilla-style marketing campaign of YouTube videos and emails. Many believe Honda could make its new 'Fury' available for purchase by the end of this year. New York Yankees Catcher Jorge Posada and Custom Motorcycle Designer/Builder Johnny Pag are expected to unveil custom motorcycle to be raffled off to raise awareness and funds for the Jorge Posada Foundation, a non profit foundation designed to assist children affected by Craniosynostosis, a birth defect that causes an abnormally shaped skull It has also been confirmed that Victory Motorcycles will reveal the CORE concept motorcycle at the New York edition of the show. Created by the Victory Motorcycles design staff, CORE is a reduction of the motorcycle to its most pure form using some of the latest production technology. The show will open its doors on Friday January 16th and run through the weekend until Sunday January 18th. It promises hundreds of the latest street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, scooters, ATVs, watercraft and more, as well as vintage bikes, custom choppers, the largest ever fleet of manufacturer sponsored demo rides, fashion shows, new interactive seminars and more. On a 13-city tour, the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show gives motorcycle lovers of all ages the opportunity to check out the latest gear and aftermarket accessories and see amazing live-action entertainment. The show is offering half price admission to female riders on Friday and children can enjoy the event free on Sunday's family day with an adult paid admission. Free tickets to the show could be in the future for those early rising motorcycle enthusiasts in New York City this Friday. The New York International Motorcycle Show is being featured nationally on the CBS Early Show this Friday morning at 7 AM, with two outdoor segments immediately following at 8:00 AM.
