Newest, most spectacular bikes at Vancouver Motorcycle Show at Tradex: Jan. 22-25
More than 175 exhibitors and 37,000 guests are expected at the Vancouver Motorocycle Show show at Tradex on Jan. 22-25 – the only event in the province where all the leading distributors and manufacturers showcase their new models. These include Ducati, Harley-Davidson, BMW, Victory, Polaris, KTM, Daelin, E-Moto, Hyosung, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki. “The Vancouver Motorcycle Show is the place to be to see the newest and most spectacular bikes out there,” said show manager Nanette Jacques. “From custom bikes to top-selling stock models to scooters, ATVs and more, the Motorcycle Show brings . . . the best wheels for motorcycle enthusiasts from all walks of life.” Following a successful turnout at last year’s show, the popular annual She Rides Nite is back again this year on Thursday, Jan. 22 starting at 5 p.m. Hosted by Sandra Klaric, midday host on 100.5 The PEAK, She Rides Nite is an opportunity for women of all ages and abilities to embrace the motorcycle lifestyle. An expert panel of female stunt riders, racers, club and association members offer an exclusive opportunity to learn the ins and outs of riding. Also back this year is endurocross, invented to exhibit the intensity and diversity of crosscountry racing in a spectator-friendly environment. Tackling tough obstacles on a man-made course designed to mimic conditions in a dirt bike race, the enduro track for 2009 is tougher and less forgiving than last year and will challenge even the country’s top riders. Some of North America’s best riders will participate, including Bobby Prochnau, who placed fifth at the Endurocross Finale in Las Vegas, and Cory Graffunder, who placed sixth at the Columbus Endurocross Series event. Stunt shows will also be bigger and better than ever before, with the AsphaltJunkiez showing their mind-blowing, gravity-defying tricks. The team features riders from the internationally distributed movies Throttle Trauma and Throttle Trauma II: Street Kings, documentaries that follow the life and times of pro motorcycle stunt riders. The Custom Alley section – one of the most popular elements of the Vancouver Motorcycle Show – showcases some of North America’s most spectacular custom motorcycles, valued at up to $500,000. Doors are open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $12, $8 and free for kids under six. A family rate of $34 is also available (two adults, two youth). For details visit www.vancouvermotorcycleshow.com. [Sourse]
